In October, in Puszczykowo, a small town nestled among the dense forests of the Wielkopolski National Park, I conducted metaphysical-psychological workshops in the enchanting, nearly 120-year-old Villa Mimoza.

Such a workshop, inspired by ancient philosophical traditions, is a world-building and deeply introspective process in which we collectively explore how metaphysical questions can, on the one hand, form the foundation of our human relationships and shape our shared world, and on the other hand, unfold as an endless network of rivers, lakes, seas, and oceans - immersing ourselves in them gives rise to reflection on our own personality and helps us gain distance from today’s fashionable self-development trainings, coaching programs, and the many modern paths to success.

From yet another, and perhaps the most rarely mentioned, perspective, metaphysics helps us understand that the human world, which surrounds us completely, is only one among many worlds coexisting on Earth, and it is by no means as vast and boundless as we tend to believe. Our human reality is but a proverbial drop in the ocean of countless beings and existences. Sadly, we are now witnessing the profound consequences of our ignorance - a changed climate, the extinction of species, and the appropriation of spaces and rights that were never ours to claim.

For years, I have been consistently pursuing my goal of connecting psychological theories of human development with contemporary philosophy, showing that a deep and genuine contact between human beings, their world, and the more-than-human world is only possible through the lens of metaphysics. I deliberately use the term “human beings” here to reflect my personal worldview, that the human is both only and already a part of the complex system that is our planet, and that our psychological balance and healthy development depend on how we perceive our place within the world.
